Mama Hope Global Advocate Fellowship

San Francisco-based non profit Mama Hope (mamahope.org) works in close partnerships with local organizations in Africa to transfer the resources needed to transform their community through projects that focus on clean water, food security, health care and education. These projects have impacted over 150,000 lives in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and Ghana.

A Global Advocate is the eyes and ears that allow Mama Hope to remain agile responsive to what’s happening in the partner communities in Africa. Advocates provide the monitoring and evaluation statistics, the up-to-the minute communication, and the informative anecdotes to keep donors and friends current with project outcomes. An Advocate is more than a person though, they are an idea—an idea that pressing global issues can be solved by real people at the community level.

Connected Development starts with LISTENING; that means every project is 100% unique to the needs of the partner community. Mama Hope doesn’t believe that there are one-size-fits-all solutions to the world’s biggest problems. Instead, they leave it to the communities to tell them what they need and build varied solutions that are as diverse as the partners we serve. By the numbers, Mama Hope has completed 34 projects in 4 countries through Africa.
